March Madness  Sure was a fun & eventful month of March….basketball finished and some 90 children and families attended our athletics banquet on March 7. It’s all back in the box till next year…thanks to all the players and families, and special thanks to Judy Gouty and others who cooked and served the meal.  Other “madness” events last month included “Dog Day” at PRO-Kids…one good doggie and one very BAD doggie…won’t be repeating that one next year. Also had a field trip outing for grades K—3 to Joe’s Fish Market…big fish, big fun! Thanks Robin & Joe Harmon, our favorite fishmongers.

 Young Disciples Benjamin Adkins, Willie Roncaglione, and Sam Roncaglione have completed Sharon’s 8-week discipleship training course and are considering Easter baptisms.  Congratulations, boys!

 PRO-Kids Needs You As stated in last month’s page, PRO-Kids is in dire need of volunteers.  Aside from the Preschool, this is currently the largest area of my ministry:  50 children K—5^th grade, in need of caring volunteers to assist with homework, meal preparation, and enrichment activities. Come on your own terms, to help regularly or to drop in for a special event.  Ideas: come and lead a 20 minute cooking demonstration, hobby demonstration, or a small project of any sort; come show your pet or your photo album from a special event or time; come and tell your story or read one.  We also need ideas for field trips, enrichment activities, and yes, FUNDRAISING.  Contact Sharon at (304)553-4513 or sharoniskra@gmail.com.  Ways 2 Praise, our Wednesday worship for K—5^th grade, will meet and study as follows in April, 4:00—5:30:

            Wed., April 4:  No W2P due to spring break.

            Wed., April 11: “And Then What?” What happened after the Resurrection, and what it means for you and me.

            Wed., April 18:  “The 10 Commandments: 1—5”  Learn ‘em and live by ‘em.

            Wed., April 25:   “The 10 Commandments: 6—10” Learn & memorize for quiz.

            Wed., May 2:  “Show What You Know” Recite and apply all 10 to earn prizes J

 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL:  HELP WANTED!! VBS is May 14-18, (M—F) 4:30--7 p.m. We need 30  volunteers, including registrars, Bible teachers, crew leaders, craft workers, food helpers and more.  Save the Date: Friday, June 1 is our TRIP to the COLUMBUS ZOO! Sharon is chartering busses and planning for a large group of children and adults.  Cost information and travel details will follow.  For now, put it on the calendar, and consider sponsoring one or more needy children on this very exciting trip.
